Every insurer has a different claims process and requires different actions in order to settle a claim, but the following are the key points to remember:
·Most insurers require a completed claim form application in order to start and process a claim.
·Insurers will require proof of ownership for items which have been lost or stolen.
·Insurers will require quotes/invoices to authorise repair or replacement of items.
·Should a third party be involved, insurers will need written correspondance from the third party confirming their demands.
